Hotels and Rentals
Although it is a small island, Oahu is big enough to warrant careful consideration on where you will be staying for the duration of your trip.
The wedding ceremony and reception will take place at Kualoa Ranch which is located in Kaaawa (yup, 3 A’s in a row). Accommodations are scarce in Kaaawa. If you want to stay near the wedding locale, you may want to search for beach houses and rentals in the Punaluu, Hauula, or Laie areas. However, we do not recommend these areas if you intend on checking out the other sites of Oahu. These areas are very far away from “town” and the drive on Kamehameha Highway is full of zigs and zags and two-laned.
We do recommend…
For those of you that want beachfront without the hubbub, we recommend looking for beach houses and rentals in Kailua or Lanikai. Kaneohe is also an option. Kaneohe is closer to the wedding site but your beach access will be to Kaneohe Bay, which is nice but not the world famous white sand beaches of Kailua or Lanikai.
For those of you that want the beach but also want people, shopping, and easy access to restaurants, clubs, and bars, we recommend looking for hotels in Waikiki. Waikiki has a range of prices and you can find great deals at hotels that are a few blocks from the beach. Although it will be full of tourists, Waikiki offers way more nightlife than anywhere on the island.
