The Proposal

After a lazy day at Lanikai Beach, Mariel was staaarving and craving a delicious Teddy’s Spud Burger. On the way past Kailua Beach, David pulled over and parked the car. Mariel thought why are we not going to get delicious Teddy’s Spud Burgers? Things got suspicious when David took out a guitar from the trunk of the car.
After finding a secluded picnic table, David seated Mariel on the bench, sat on the ground, and opened his guitar case. From her high vantage point, Mariel caught a glimpse of a long gold box. Oh…phew?…long gold box, not small ring box. Mariel settled in to be serenaded.
At the end of the song, David presented the gold box. Mariel thought it strange that David was giving her a necklace since he recently gave her a necklace to celebrate her law school graduation, but she’s not one to turn down surprise necklace presents. Expecting a necklace, she opened the box and found…a blue feather.
Now this is when the story gets dorky. So there is this video game called Harvest Moon that came out for almost every console since Super Nintendo. In Harvest Moon, you play a farmer that spends his days farming, raising farm animals, and hitting on the village girls. When you hit on a girl for a long enough period of time, she falls in love with you and the Harvest sprites come to your farm and give you a blue feather. You give the blue feather to the girl. Adorable cut scenes ensue and the girl moves into your farmhouse.
Oh! A blue feather?! Then there was a ring and some words and some tears and then delicious Teddy’s Spud Burgers.
